B Carb Float Doesn't fit I have a 1930 Coupe which has a B Carb on it. While rebuilding the Carb, I couldn't help but notice that the float was pretty dinged up, with numerous dents and solder spots. So I ordered a B carb float from a prominent supplier. The float is the oblong style with the pin bracket offset to one side. The float I received was the same style and pin bracket, but it was worthless as the bracket was not offset so the float would not enter its chamber. I ordered another from a different supplier and received another float that didn't have the pin bracket offset sufficiently to permit entry into the gas chamber of the carb. Does anyone know of a supplier who sells rectangular B floats that actually fit a B carb?

Re: B Carb Float Doesn't fit Give Renner's Corner a call. They don't show the float on there site
but they can probably supply one. http://www.rennerscorner.com/index.html |
Re: B Carb Float Doesn't fit I didn't mention its a Zenith carb.

Re: B Carb Float Doesn't fit The new "B" floats are all supplied by the same manufacturer and they don't fit without modification. I would try to repair the original float that you have, or see if you can get a used "B" carb that has a good original float.

Re: B Carb Float Doesn't fit I contacted David Renner and he is seeing what he can find for me. He doesn't handle the B floats anymore since they are not made well. He believes the pin bracket itself is often the problem as it holds the float body too close to the needle seat, causing interference in the float action. My problem has been getting one that has the pin bracket soldered in the right place.
