goose neck head to rdiator

i want to install an after market adjustable thermostat ,mostly for looks, that requires cutting out a bit of the hose.in my case the hose has bit of a kink. my question is are there different goose necks? Berts has two stock numbers and how do you tell them apart?

28/29 goose neck is shorter than 30/31

Some vendors sell different hoses. Some just stock the longer top hose kits
