39 coupe gauges. Started my 39 in the garage just to run the engine for awhile all fine, then just going to turn off after 10 minutes and saw the oil fuel and battery gauges starting to fall like they had lost power what would it be fuse ? if so where is it located. any help much appreciated

Re: 39 coupe gauges. If it is wired stock only the lights are fused as you can see here:
http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/F...ing1939dlx.jpg It shows that the only switch in the path from the battery to those gauges is one leg of the ignition switch so I would suspect that. Now, it could be rewired such that the gauges are fused for some reason. If the stock fuse was used it is under the dash near the hand brake. |
Re: 39 coupe gauges. you can test for correct voltage on back of ignition switch. one terminal is ignition, one is coil and the other one is for the gauges.

Re: 39 coupe gauges. marko39 nailed it. Sometimes my 39 std. gauges don't work, even with the engine running, until I move the ignition switch just a little.

Re: 39 coupe gauges. 1 Attachment(s)
You might need to clean or replace your switch block.

Back of the ignition switch should look something like this.
