Heater

Trying to find a 6 volt under dash heater for my 1936 Humpback. Wondering if anyone makes a new aftermarket heater, I found one in Mac's Auto Parts, but they said they no longer carry one, even though it's in their catalog.

You need to be a little more specific as to what kind of a heater you are looking for.

The only stock heater for a 36 is a manifold hot air heater.. If you are going for concourse correct, that is what you need.. For my money they are a waste of time and effort.
The most practical every day heater is a '39-40 hot water heater mounted on the passenger side of the cowl/firewall. Most people seem to think the heater should be mounted in the center of the cowl/firewall. On a floor shift car the gear shift can interfere with the center mounted heater.
I have attached a pix of the '39-40 Ford heater in my '36 coupe. This heater was mounted in the car when I bought the car in 1952.
There is a man named Kube that is on the Barn on a regular basis, he has '39-40 Ford hot water heaters.

That is what I was looking for but haven't found one that wasn't junk. Still searching to find one that isn't rusted out.

Re: Heater

South wind gas heaters are almost immediate heat and safe if installed properly. I have had a number of them in autos and even in two aircraft (which were approved for use by the FAA) They are frequantly available at reasonable prices on line shopping sites. Be sure that you are buying the installation and mounting parts for hookup with the heater.

Have you tried to contact Kube, he generally posts many comments on the 'Barn' and EFV8 Forum.

Re: Heater

In post #4 did you mean you are looking for a hot air heater that isn't rusted out? My dad and I deal in them. If so I should be able to supply a complete system. The exchanger will need some work but is useable. PM me if you are interested.
