Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 Does anyone know if the ignition switch chrome lever is being reproduced for the 35 or 36 ford. I know the two look different but should work the same.

Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 early 35 is the bulls eye shape but the later 35 and 36 are identical. No one is reproducing the switch handle.

Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 Coupe35-
I have rebuilt several of these and it appears that Ford bought their ON-OFF switch from two different suppliers. Basically, the assemblies look the same on the outside but the inners are slightly different. One of the differences was the toggle switch. This means if someone was considering to repo this switch they would need to make two different types to accommodate the two different types of assemblies. This would probably make costs prohibitive for a potential low volume item. Hence, no one is re-popping them and I doubt if anyone ever will. Tom |
Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 Bob Drake has in his catalog the repair kit for the NON bulls eye style. This includes the lever & cap in stainless.

Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 Deuce lover- By chance do you have the part number of this repair kit? I looked through Bob Drake's on-line catalog and came up empty.
Thanks Tom |
Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 Mac's has a kit for a 1940. If drake has one, it is most likely for a 1940. Like someone said. No one is going to make expensive dies for a product that will not see that many sales.

Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 The kit that Drake makes is for the 40 .Everything but the switch plate I believe should work on the 35-36.Part number 01A-3676K.I would call and ask them. All you will use is the lever, button and maybe the rivets if you change the plate. Its pictured on page 359 in his new catalog.

Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 deuce lover-
I doubt if it would work. Enclosed are a couple of pictures. The lever with the screw attached is a typical '40-'48. The other picture is a typical '35-'37. Unfortunately, over time many toggle switches get broken off which necessitate the hunt for a new replacement which is often fruitless. However, I wonder if it might be "possible" for some creative mind to grind off the broken '35-'37 toggle and then drill and tap a hole which the later model toggle could be grafted on? Just thinking out loud........ Tom |
Re: Anyone reproducing the ignition switch lever for 35/36 Thanks for the pics flathead fan.Looks like that lever & ring could be made from stainless stock.A hardened pin would need to be pressed in that moves the brush in the switch.Another thought .
