Rear spring

OK, I was under my 1928 coupe and noticed that the 2 smallest leaf springs are mounted on the bottom [under the main spring]. Does anyone know why someone would do this?

Re: Rear spring

Only reason I can think is someone was trying to adjust the ride, so they swapped the top leaves to the bottom to reduce the effective springiness while retaining the right number of leaves for the assembly hardware.

Suspect the ride height was also reduced.

To use them as spacers

The top leaf, front AND rear, are beveled too fit the cross member correctly..!
Something to think about..

Update, the top leaf has the "Ford" logo stamped on it, that was cool to see. It also is beveled as stated earlier.
