No oil pressure reading on gauge? Fired engine up for first time with new bypass oil system
. I moved sending unit to a 90 degree take off at top of the filter. Pump & new filter sys. is working it filled it self with oil. It does have a reducing orifice about .090” supplied with the filter canister. Didn’t realize stud on the sending unit was loose so might have turned as tightening it. Thinking maybe the sending unit is shot? |

Re: No oil pressure reading on gauge? remove plugs and crank engine until you have some oil pressure--use a reliable mechanical gauge

Re: No oil pressure reading on gauge? Took off the NPT block with the tapped holes for the pressure sensor that had the .090 & the in line & found another on a banged up canister I bought but never used. Checked same & on this one @ .065”. Went with it still no reading on gauge. Needle shakes / bounces but basically 0. I’m 99% sure engines getting oil as there’s enough pressure to fill the canister. Anyone know how to do electrical check on the sensor / transducer? Thinking it’s either shot or wrong match to gauge? Will continuity check circuit later today.

Re: No oil pressure reading on gauge? Thx Alan, I want to that but gotta get a mechanical gauge first.

Re: No oil pressure reading on gauge? Received mechanical oil pressure gauge & checked. I was very happy as pressure tested @ 50-60 @ 900-1200 rpm.
