40 stumbles when braking.

So my 40 is running rough when slowing and braking. Clutch is fully disengaged and the engine runs rough and slow until I am fully stopped, then smooths out and speeds up to normal idle. Occasionally it will die but restart fine.

Thoughts?

Also check and make sure that the engine has a good ground with the chassis - as I've seen cases where the movement of the engine changed the ground surfaces and caused an ignition issue. If it is not the float level, you might consider a large ground wire from the frame (ground cable location) to a transmission or head bolt.
