Low speed miss

I have a '41 PU with a 59 AB engine. It was running rich. I took the carb apart, installed new float and carb kit. Initial start up gas running out of accelerator pump area. Reset float. Now starts and idles great. Has noticeable miss with when I slowly add rpms. Since it did not have this before I rebuilt card I assume it is still a carb issue. Any suggestions?

Well it could be carb. But your carb is not working well if it's overflowing or running rich. It's a system, once you fix one thing something else can come up. The test is to make it all run together.

I notice a miss when the car is cold.

U indicate it was running rich before rebuild of carb, how long did that condition exist. If for a while all or some plugs probably crusty from running rich. Did u check the plugs?

Goods plugs. Not wet. the original issue was bad float. Fioat was filled with gas. Put in new float and some parts from carb kit. Just make me think I got something messed up in carb but that carb is pretty simple not much to mess up. thanks for reply.

What kind of carb? 94? 97?

Re: Low speed miss

You indicated an issue with the accelerator pump. Some kits have a pump rod that is too short. Also, you may have lost the check valve ball from the bottom of the pump cylinder, held in place by a small wire clip. Either or both of these issues will cause a malfunction.
