19Fordy Jack Plate?
 

19Fordy , if you wouldn’t mind could you give some more details about the jack plate you describe in a earlier post. Are they fabricated by you or purchased?

Most likely just a piece of angle iron bolted to frame at strategic jack points to prevent damage to the frame when jacking car up.

The jack plates are 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches long pieces of 3/8 x 3 x 3 angle iron. They are bolted through holes that are already in the stock factory frame rails. I didn't drill new holes. Metal strips are used as shims between the bottom of the frame rail and bottom leg of the angle to make pads sit more level for easier "jacking". Plates are easily removed for reversion to stock.

There are 3 plates on each side frame rail - 2 up front and 1 near the rear. My car sits very low so I need to use 2 jacks to change a tire. First jack goes under the jack plate to raise the frame. Then, the second jack goes under the axle to lift the tire. Works fine.

I also double nutted the perch bolt threads for thread protection and to provide another jack point "in a pinch". Make sure you have plenty of clearance to prevent damage to your front end sheet metal when jack is released. Too easy to forget this requirement until you hear a crunching sound.

It's pretty much set in stone that COUPE and SEDAN chassis are gonna be identical. The only situation where there MAY be a difference in holes is between DIFFERENT year models. DD
