Model AA bus? Is it true that Ford never made a bus derivative for the AA ? Were all buses on AA frame produced by outside bodyworks groups?

Re: Model AA bus? More than likely you ordered the frame length and cowl which got sent to you local coach builder. Happened a lot back then.

Re: Model AA bus? Thanks for that lead Bob. Reading the aafords and maffi websites it says ..."Ford contracted directly with the Union City Bus Company, Union City, Indiana" do you know if Union City Bus Co sent the bodies to Rouge or if the AA rolling frames/cowl went out to Union City for bodying there?

Re: Model AA bus? Quote:
According to the "Assembly Record Types" spreadsheets, the Ford Motor Company produced 685 school/passenger buses on their assembly line (5/31 - 2/32). The bodies were supplied by Union City. Ford didn't manufacture any AA closed or open cargo bodies. They were provided by other suppliers. Ford manufactured the 76-A, 76-B and some of the 82-B cabs for the A and AA chassis.
