1939 heater / switch in 1938 wagon Finally acquired an NOS Ark - Les “fast/slow” reversible switch to operate a nice heater from Kubes’ inventory. Where would I locate the control switch for the heater ? The book suggests, without showing exact placement, a location to the left of the steering column “almost to the A pillar” - where would this likely be relative to the starter button location ? Have not been able to find photos showing reasonably correct placement. Thank you.

A switch for an electric fuel pump (which I actually like) was previously mounted below the dash to the right of the steering column. One or more of these may represent failed mounting attempts. The switch that is seen in the photo doesn’t seem to serve any purpose and might be a good donor hole.

A switch for an electric fuel pump (which I actually like) was previously mounted below the dash to the right of the steering column. One or more of these may represent failed mounting attempts. The switch that is seen in the photo doesn’t seem to serve any purpose and might be a good donor hole.

Re: 1939 heater / switch in 1938 wagon One should get the Early Ford V8s 38-39 reference book. It has an extensive explanation of the different heaters and their component locations, mentioning that most were dealer installed. For the 37-38 blower switch it says "78-15168 attaches to the bottom flange of the instrument panel in holes that are either pre-punched or have to be drilled". Kube shows a 39 dash with pre-punched hole. Jacques shows a 38 dash that has to be drilled if he wants to follow the book.
