Fordwood Does anyone know if Fordwood is still open? I have called and emailed numerous times and have had no response.
TIA |
Re: Fordwood Sorry to say nothing new there, they are hard to get ahold of. Was that way when the Mom and Dad were running it too.

Re: Fordwood true. you just leave a message.........
if youre out in the garage making the wood, who has time to answer the phone? :) |
Re: Fordwood But 2 weeks?
|
Re: Fordwood Years ago I ordered wood from them for a 68C.
They sent me some of the wood, but not all. They never shipped the last top piece. It did not matter because none of the wood was usable. At least they did not charge me. As I understand it there have been issues in the past. I was lucky as I did not lose money. |
Re: Fordwood do you really want to deal with a company with this track record, I know I would not !
|
Re: Fordwood I guess not. I am trying to find out if I can just get the front 17 inches of the passenger side floor sill made. It is the only bad piece of wood in the car and I really don't want replace the entire length
|
Re: Fordwood Hate when people knock companies on this board. I bought a header for a 68b and yes, it was just fine.
My experience was A plus. I wood buy from them again! (I no Will) :) |
Re: Fordwood I bought an entire wood kit for my Tudor from Bert's in Denver. The kit came from Classic Wood Products and there was an issue with the front header piece which was made wrong. After some back and forth emails, pictures and measurements, I had a very favorable experience because they stood by it and made it good. I don't know if they make one-off pieces, but you might give them a shot if you don't hear from Fordwood.

Re: Fordwood After reading replacing the front 17 or inches, I have to wonder how you plan on joining the two pieces together? The sill is a structural part of the wood frame work, not just sitting there to be stepped on each time you get in and out of the car. Is the body on or off the frame, if on seem like a lot of work to install.
Also what year and body style? |
Re: Fordwood Good luck finding anyone to make that 17" piece.
I make wood for Model A's but I would only make a full sill board. I know Classic Wood does not make custom pieces, because I am a wholesale business for them. Brothers A Wood. |
Re: Fordwood bmg, how much for a full sill board for a 31 Vikki?
|
Re: Fordwood ed- you could use yours for templates...........
I bought a pair of tired sills for my 68b- made 4 sets of new sills and sold 2 pair. my price was 500. a pair- Snyders wants 1250. a pair. mine were roughed and needed detailing, but well worth the savings. |
