Beadblast Cabinet
 

I am in the market for a new commercial Media Blast Cabinet for my shop. Below is a few of my criteria:

~First & foremost, ...it must do an excellent job at blasting. (like continuous media siphoning, good rate of media blast, and great dust removal)

~Next, I am seeking a unit capable of being used in an hospital operating room!! (No leaks and good dust collection)

~Large enough to be able to put a Front Fender in with room to blast it completely.

~A unit capable of being used for approximately 10-15 hours a week.


Outside of that, I am looking for input on top load vs. side load units. What manufacturer's unit have you used and what did you like/dislike about it??

Shoot, a few months ago there was one local to me on craigslist. Major name large industrial size for $1500, waaaaayyyyyy too cheap, and with the dust collectors to boot. All I could think was someone was getting the deal of a lifetime. Needless to say it was off CL by the end of the day.

Ya I know that does not help you. It would have been what you wanted and at the right price.

Look at TP tools and equiptment. They are in canfield ohio. The web address is TPTOOLS.COM. I purchased instructions and components and built my own cabinet.

I would second Trinco. Although I only have a 36" it has worked reliably for
over 20 years. good pull through dust control. Parts are always available such as plastic window covers ,gloves and nozzle orifices.

I would concur that Trinco has a good product. I have used one for years. I recommend that, whatever you choose, it have a cyclone type dust removal/bead recovery system. This system does an excellent job of dust removal as well as recycling the heavier beads for more economy.

My two cents worth would be to build a 10' x 12' building. Put the equiptment outside to lessen the noise and dust.

Brent,

I have a Trinco, 25 years old, its 2' X 4', works great. I know they make a bigger
unit, 2 window, 4 glove unit. I think you mite be dreaming a little, if you expect
it to be that clean, there is a debris field around the machine, and I'm real picky
about blowing out the parts and the inside of the cabinet, letting it " rest " with
the dust collector ON, before opening the door.
