Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery why does the one on e-bay"s rear door open from the left side and stovebolts information and pic"s one opens from the right? Different company?

Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery The ebay one is a '36 and the ad shows a '35. Apparently they changed sides I guess.
That one is the only one that I know of, so I was surprised to see it pop up on ebay. Hopefully someone who appreciates the rarity ends up with it and it doesn't end up metallic silver with 18" wheels! |
Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery Candy Apple Burgundy Purple with Donks and a graphic of Thor with the dogs out front of him, I already have the kit to make it hop up and down.:eek::D

Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery I have a friend that swears he owned a `36 four door Ford sedan that had a rumble seat. I told him there was no such animal. But maybe these pictures prove me wrong. How about it, was there such a car?

Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery These Ford Tudor Deliveries were a conversion kit from Briggs Body corp., one of Fords suppliers in those days.
There was a '34 version & the '32 TD was also Briggs. All very low production & super rare. The '34 had rear door opening same as Stovebolts photo. Actually there was a Model A version as well, at least in some 'foreign' markets. A few were sold in New Zealand & also parts of Europe. From photos, bodies appear the same even to door opening for RHD driving, even in LHD Europe. Probably a kit from Ford. It would not be too difficult today to make one of these up , so any being sold as original would have to be well scrutinized. |
Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery a friend of mine had a model a like that for years its now been sold to north auckland for restoration :)

Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery Hey Ford Barners, I am the guy selling the 36 3 door (boulevard Delivery)........Just want to correct the last post. I am not an international seller. I am located in Connecticut. I had a international buyer who could not complete the transaction so it is available for purchase. I will try to assist anyway I can in the sale of this car. It is truly special and deserves a good home. Contact me through the Ebay listing with any questions, or my number is 860-627-5806 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMESELX%3AIT. Thank You D

Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery Shadetree, et all,
The claim by your friend that he had a '36 Ford four door sedan with a rumble seat is another misconception like "suicide doors, Rocky Mountain Brakes, Opera/Business Coupes" and other myths. Ford never named or identified any of their cars, especially the '40 Ford coupe with jump seats as an Opera Coupe. The same is true of the one seat coupes of the '30's, early '40's, as being business coupes. Most of these mythical names are inventions of creative used car advertising and/or bragging rights between friends. I like the suicide door thing the best... My mother was driving a '34 Ford fordor in 1940, my sister was sitting next to the passenger door, on a turn the car hit a bump which caused the door to pop open, sister almost fell out, she was pinned next to the open door, I was able to grab her dress preventing her from falling completely out of the car... Pretty scary stuff for an boy of seven and nine year old girl. Try sitting in the back seat of a car with forward opening rear doors, open the rear door and try to jump out like you are going to commit suicide. The seat is generally aft of the door so you can't fall out. I've got to go find a new Johnson Bar and a rear exhaust bearing for my "Screaming Eight" Ford. |
Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery Hmmmmm............ I keep my "Johnson Bar" with me always.:D

Re: Rare '36 ford v8 2 purpose sedan boulevard delivery I knew the owner of the one in CT. and I am sure it is the real deal. Kerk
