Engine issue I have an 8BA stock rebuilt { Walt Dupont} engine. It has run great, and still runs great except for 1 issue which just started. Taking off in 1st and 2nd gear , and winding her up, high revs the engine cuts out . If I dont wind it up it runs fine, no issues in 3rd gear. I have changed the points and condenser and timed it. Any help here would be great! Kind regards Ray

Re: Engine issue I have inspected the fuel line which looks fine, stock fuel pump 6 years old with about 4000 miles on it.The tank is clean. The 1 thing I noticed when under the hood revving the engine and letting off there is bubbles coming from the top of the pump into the glass bowl. not sure this is normal , as I said it runs great as long as I dont get into it and drive normal. I'll try the MMO also. Thanks for the info guys Ray

Re: Engine issue air bubbles? change bowl gasket or rebuild pump/check valves, there is an air leak or the check valves are not working correctly. do a volume check

Re: Engine issue Any results on this issue?

Re: Engine issue Air leak in the flex line, going to the fuel pump.

Re: Engine issue Why do you mention a Walt DuPont engine ? Your problem doesn't appear to be because of Walt DuPont's work. You seem to have a fuel delivery problem.

Probably so we won't question the engine build since most of us know Walt's stuff is done correctly. That eliminates a lot of questions! Terry |
Re: Engine issue My 8BA was experiencing the same "cutting-out" at higher rpms and I replaced the vacuum advance canister. It ran great after that!

Re: Engine issue I've been gone for a bit will get to looking at this soon. The reason I mentioned Walt was to state that it was a stock rebuild, and no other reason. Thanks Cadillac 512. Walt is the best
