Thanks Rockfla |
Re: ANYONE?? Class, class ANYONE??? I use a Battery Tender Junior and have the pigtails attached to the 6 volt battery terminals. I plug it in occasionally when the battery has been sitting. It is a good indicator of when the battery is at full charge. I also make sure that the battery disconnect switch is in the off position. My switch is in the positive (ground) line.

Re: ANYONE?? Class, class ANYONE??? I use a cheapy HF battery maintainer on my Yamaha 3000 generator. Leave it hooked up with a pig tail connector at all times. No problems. FWIW.

Re: ANYONE?? Class, class ANYONE??? I use a Die Hard battery maintainer on my 6v positive ground with a Red Top Optima battery. I have the pigtail quick connect wired to the battery terminals and plug it in over the winter. I’ve had no problems with it and the battery is 4 years old by now.

Re: ANYONE?? Class, class ANYONE??? Yeah. No shut off switches on the battery cables, and both cables attached.

Re: ANYONE?? Class, class ANYONE??? In the Summer I don't use anything. During the winter when the car is in storage the battery comes out and goes in my cellar, I hook it up to a eBay Chinese battery maintainer and plug it in once in a while. Did the same with the 6 volt battery from my Ford 8N.

But I think disconnecting the battery is good insurance any time. Not due to concern with a charger/maintainer, but due to the far greater electrical potential of the battery itself. |
Re: ANYONE?? Class, class ANYONE??? Like Jay, if my cars are going to be sitting any length of time I take a battery cable off, only takes a half minute and you don't have to think about an electrical glitch or a fire.
