Crank has no clean out plugs Project 59 motor the crank doesn’t have any clean outs, Can’t be Ford .
Who crank can it be ? |
Re: Crank has no clean out plugs 59s don't have 'em.
Don't need them because there is only one oil hole per throw. It can be drilled straight through. The 8BA type have two oil holes per throw so they need the cavity in the throw and hence the need for a plug. Mart. |
Re: Crank has no clean out plugs Thanks Mart , interesting

Re: Crank has no clean out plugs I was just thinking , do the aftermarket cranks have clean outs ?

Yes all the aftermarket Flathead cranks have clean outs. The rod journal passage must be drilled the same process as found on the Flathead crankshafts made for the latter blocks. Say would you be working on one of Charlie Casey's engines? Ronnieroadster |
