Try pricing up some, say....205R 16. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, both with the price, and the ride quality...obviously being radials, you'll want to put them on the front too, but, once you've run radials on your truck, you'll never, ever go back to x plies. You can just run them on the back with your yucky bias ply tires on the front, until you've worn them [the front tires] out.
I run the above 205's on the back of my 35, 175R 75 16 on front. Big and littles.

Coker quoted me $2600 CDN inc. shipping for 4 tires 6.50 x 16 firestone White walls. Ended up getting them from a Canadian distributor who got them from Coker for $1600 CDN inc. tax/ shipping/ enviro fees and x4 new tubes. Kind of crazy, but what's a guy gonna do without tires :D

The only thing is they are small diameter Brian . they would be about 700mm compared to 800mm ..
Maybe I could reband the rims to suit a bigger radial tyre and still be in front? Damn I had some real good F150 rims that I sold I could of played with those I guess.. Just really liked the traditional look of the Firestones, and they've never let me down..

Had five 7.50-16 white walls fitted to my F2 rims last month. With new tubes, mounting and balancing the bill showed 2300 Euros. Now my allowed speed index is 190km/h LOL.

Cheapest chinese lightweight truck tyres would have been 100 Euros a piece.

In 2018, I wanted to buy a set of 6:00X16 Firestone WWW bias tires for my '46 Coupe. I got prices from two sellers near where I live in Ontario, Canada, and compared them to the price from Universal Tire in Hershey, PA in the U.S.. The Universal price was about half of what I was quoted at home.

Even with the exchange rate, it was a good deal. The four tires, tubes, mounting and balancing was US$1050.00, which converts to +/- C$1360.00 with the exchange rate. I considered the travel cost to go get them was just a nice short vacation to a place we hadn't been to.

Awhile back I got a quote from Coker, they also wanted freight to Texas. Summit was cheaper, same Coker tires and free shipping, go figure.
