Is there a sequence or procedure to drop the prepared and painted body on to the finished car frame. I know and must follow Les Andrews drawing - frame welt, side splash unit, body wood block and then the rubber pad. How do I line up the body bolts through each body block and body holes....?

You and four other big guys��. Serious though, set up the welting etc., the. The body goes on and you will have to line up each pad and block and bolt. Fortunately, you have a coupe and not a sedan��.

How about making some tapered alignment rods to fit in several holes.

Body blocks are pre-attached in a few locations, ...and beginning on the rear, insert the bolts and use that to align to chassis. Once the body is lowered and setting on the frame, work your way forward inserting the bolts and loosely install the lockwasher and nut. Then use a string as a centerline to align the body to the frame.

I installed my Tudor body by my self ! Pre punch the welting, some of the blocks are attached before, a lot of under the car back out up and in. Reminds me of a kids story, ma ma I went to town inside outside upside down!

Thanks for the tips.....I’m not quite ready yet. The main body is at the body/paint shop. I’m not even sure where they are with their work- soda sanding, some small body spots, prime and final paint finish. With this major virus thing, this project has been on a delay work time.

A few dabs of black silicone caulk will hold the welting and blocks in place over the frame holes. Wait till it cures so things are well stuck in place.
Now all you need to worry about is dropping the body over the holes. use a couple or three of long bolts at the far corners of the body to aid in initial alignment. a tapered long punch works well for a bit of precision.
