Engine Firing Orders I thought you guys might get a kick out of this. There's a guy on YouTube that posts videos demonstrating various engine firing orders. With flashing lights and some speakers, he simulates what different engines sound like. He's got a bunch of different simulations, from V4s to a straight-eight to a single-cylinder two-stroke and more.
Here's a link to the Flathead/Y-Block/Coyote V8 video. At idle and around 4,000 RPM it really starts to sound like one of these engines! https://youtu.be/uhKSPLdCiCo It's kind of amazing how different that sounds than the firing order used by the small-block Chevy and other V8s. https://youtu.be/iw4rqQD479o If you want more, here's the main page of his YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5W...VkjuXLg/videos |
Re: Engine Firing Orders Pretty neat to watch it change at RPMs. But the Flathead one didnt really sound like a flat head.
