1949 1.5 ton rearend
13.6 28 diamond treads on the front
18.4 26 rice and canes on the rear

its about 5 years ago and i've had a lot of fun with it
And by the way i didnt destroy any model a's to build it, i bought a broken frame, rotted to ground cowl, and a cracked B engine.
I'll add more pics of other projects in the near futrue. We are building a couple tractors and buggys.

Roy, the only issue I would see with it is .....where you go to play with that thing also has aligators & snakes abound, --neither of which I have any affection for!! :D

I was a Park Ranger in the Everglades back in the 70's and 80's. There were still a few of these around then. At one time this would have been pretty much a common sight. I remember a club with at least three model A buggies behind Monroe Station but most of the buggies had gone to using tracks. When the Model A's roamed the glades, they were driven by MEN!! Tough, ingenious, independent, afraid of nothing MEN.

I suppose you don't use an updraft carb? Where is the air intake? A snorkle?

Looks like an updraft carb with a snorkel on the firewall in the picture. Hard to see though.

here are some more pics, the red buggy had my B engine in it when i first built it but i pulled it to build something else and i threw a 350 in it and rolled it a couple years ago and almost killed myself. I will post more pics when i get them of new projects and old buggys.

This is very true, im 30 and im a 3rd generation Model a swamp buggy guy. My dad model A's when he was a kid and has had the same Model A buggy for almost 40 years. My grandfather had a cut down model A he used for work in the 50's and later got a set of old tracks off a ford tractor and built a halftrack out of and ran into the mid 60's. Back in the olden days A's and T's were what buggys were built out of. Just hunters modifting what they had to get them out in the woods to hunt. Model A buggys and very rare these days, and out of the Thousands of buggys down here in south florida i know of maby 10 Model A buggys still running. And i have 4 of them.
