I'm looking specifically for what people are using for upper radiator hoses when late heads are installed in a 1935/36.

I used a rubber bushing on the head side, and whatever I could find at napa to make the hookup. Cant remember the number, sorry. Paul

I'd like to see this too. I'd also like to see how to fit a stock fan on an 8ba in a 36. I hate electric fans

I have given this some thought, a 53 merc is one of my engine options
There's thermostat housings that are made for the larger hoses

I am pretty sure I can drill for oil to 37-48 pumps, and there's the sealed bearing replacement pumps
Original intake and front cover, machine snout of crankshaft to early pulley specs

Use 59 style rear main cap, oversized hollow dowel pins for modified stay rods-- cut trans adapter in1/2, add oil pan mount bosses, use original pan.
Perhaps people that have tried such modification can say why it won't work I am not at the decision time in the restoration yet, and there's the 59 block that is at 3/8 that is crying for a 4.250 crankshaft, that block doesn't even hav any of the "factory " cracks and has the cleanest water jackets that I have ever seen

Tons of info. has been written about installing an 8BA into 36-40 Fords.

Then read every link shown that mentioned anything close to what you are trying to do. Your biggest problem will be getting the 8BA fan to fit properly as it sits too high for the slanted 36 radiator. However, here's one solution:

I don't have a choice but to run an electric fan. With a blower there's no room for a fan!

Here’s mine, pretty easy w 90 degree stainless tube & standard cooling Sys rubber parallel connections.

Here’s mine, pretty easy w 90 degree stainless tube & standard cooling Sys rubber parallel connections. Also while hard to see in pic I cut dow the dia. Of a stock 4 blade fan & it fits clearing the overhang on the radiator. But I also use an electric push Spal fan between radiator & grille.

Would be better if you could lower the mechanical fan assembly to center of radiator.
Is your radiator straight or slanted?

I don't have a picture handy to post here, but when I did this conversion many years ago on a 35 coupe, I recall the top hoses connected to the thermostat housing necks, and were basically a straight shot up to the inlet tubes on a stock '35 radiator, either small or large top tank versions.

Most of us are aware of the center fan of 40s flatheads. So anything is possible.



Seems a natural connection 8ba heads to a 35 rad.

just spent a week doing the same thing ,i took a1936 generator fan mount cut the shaft off made a new shaft mounted denso alternator to 1936 gen mount with fan and dual carbs and it all fits and works
