PayPal and eBay getting a dicorce

I noticed today starting this sometime year, eBay will be processing their own payments for buyers and sellers rather than going through PayPal (like amazon does).

Wonder how much they will jack the payment fees over what PayPal charges?

As I saw it Paypal will still be there but a small percentage of business will be directed to another service provider.

Google & Apple pay have been added. They also have their own system for taking credit cards.

I would encourage the use of Zelle or any of several other electronic money transfer services. I'm not sure if there is any recourse for non delivery of product, though.

I've been wondering what kick back e-Bay is getting from the state of California for collecting the California sales tax?

None, that was a Supreme Court decision from all states that have a sales tax. Happening in all states that have sales tax. Want to avoid it, move to a state that doesn't have sales tax.

Ebay is required to charge sales tax for just about all states.
They are not getting any kickback from the states but the states are now getting sales tax that they did not get before the ruling.

To be wasted some more like they were before.
Don't find ways to spend wisely, look for more elsewhere.
It's just crazy.

Kentucky merchants get a small discount (seems like 1.3 percent from memory) for collecting and sending it to the state. I wonder if eBay gets that.

I simply asked a question. I don't need a lecture about moving.

The DIVORCE was ten years back with provision the eBay transaction payments go thru PayPal. As that condition has just expired eBay is able to extract profits in additional ways, including payment fees, which formerly were lost to PayPal.

I love them both but rue the added complications.

As my grandfather used to say at the age of 90.
"The dollar is going to whip us"

FYI, I am trying to ship an item sold on eBay. Paypal is evidently jammed up due to the virus and not printing shipping labels.

Their Customer Service is closed. Man I hate to have to go into the Post Office right now.

Hoop, why not print the label through eBay?

You can pay for and print a shipping label at USPS.com. I think you can measure and weigh the package and it will provide the pricing. If it is off, they will bill you the difference. Ask me how I know?

USPS charges retail rates, Ebay gives the seller and buyer the negotiate rates (roughly 22% less)

Re: PayPal and eBay getting a dicorce

Michael, eBay is not working either. Tried work-arounds ... no luck.

I have a USPS account and will use that.

My comment about going into the P.O. was a general comment about, as a last resort, having to go stand in what is an inevitable long line.

I'm not in trouble ... was just giving a heads up on potential delays. Thanks all.

EDIT: After repeated tries, eBay printed. It's cranky.

I use a lot regional A & B boxes and I always get a kick out of eBay telling me I'm paying a reduced rate; when in fact it is the same price if I printed it from the USPS web sight.
