Striping the Early 1931 Victoria (Non-Indented Firewall) I am going to stripe my new Victoria. I have reviewed the Paint and Finish Guide and the Restoration Guidelines. I have the following questions:
1. What is the correct width of the stripe that starts at the front of the hood and goes around the body to the front of the hood on the other side? 2. I can't find a reference that I saw sometime ago that the early 31 Victoria does not get a pin stripe around the windows. Is this true? Approximately what month was this stripe added? Thank you for your help. Ed |
Re: Striping the Early 1931 Victoria (Non-Indented Firewall) ED,
1. Your Paint Guide will recommend a body stripe 3/32". 2. Bob Bidone posts here often is your Victoria guru on body dates & striping. He brought to my attention a factory letter saying the gas tank stripe was deleted during one period of production. Best |

Here are 3 pictures of the pin strip on my (early May) Victoria. It was repainted over the original in 1980, so it is a little wide. I would think that it would be the same on both the leather back a and the steel back. It matches the drawing in the Paint & Finish Guide. I have not heard of the pin strip around the windows being deleted. It may have been done for a short period. Bill |
