4-banger books

Hi to all, and a happy New Year! A few of you have asked about my book on performance 4-bangers. I picked up more from my printer today, too late for Christmas but still a good gift, for yourself or others. Same price as before, $34 mailed here in the States. [email protected] for more info. Thanks!

Happy New Year Jim, what a great book, I enjoying reading it over and over each time picking up and understanding banger operations much better then ever before. Have showed your book to several Club members who have been placed on your "list". They will be happy to hear the book is available again.

Great book, anyone who is interested in what makes a good motor should get one.

From what I have noticed is that most of the time someone say's "4 banger", they are referring to "souped up" and not a stock engine. Is this for a stock engine or for souping one up, or both?

Can you post a picture of the table of contents page(s)?

Regards
Bill

Bill, it's strictly about performance Model A & B Fords. I'm computer ignorant so you'll have to e-mail me for details. I can send you the index and front cover.

Most people build a banger to keep up with the traffic. That may just be a high compression head, but it will alter a lot of things. If you understand the modifications and what they do then you can decide if they are going to be useful to you or not. Instead of maybe wasting your money.

Great book! Good read even if you aren't building a motor.

Jim,
Will you have a space/books at Turlock?
Also have a couple of cams for you to grind if that’s OK?
Tim

Re: 4-banger books

Tim, I won't be at the Turlock Meet but can send some books, probably with Steve Serr at the Miller Hi-Speed booth. He will likely be willing to bring cams to me. Thanks!

We were able to acquire the 1931 Victoria Herb (my father-in-law) had before he went into the service in 1950. Pictured in my avatar where it was from the 50s to just a few years ago. We are putting an engine together for it and herb has been following the progress.
He will be 92 soon. I showed him Jim’s book a day ago he hasn’t put it down since. Says he likes the book, and I need to read it too, also says Jim’s a funny guy.
The book has taken him back to days past when too was building As and A-V8s
I may need to order another copy Jim.

The book has beautiful color pictures to go along with the text.

Thanks guys! The Post Office raised their rates over the weekend, and the book cost me more because of the added chapter. Guess I never will be wealthy!
