Maybe not camping as much as travelling. I have seen pics of my grandparents ca. late '20's early '30's of their travels from MD to S FLA. They would go down every autumn and stay throughout the winter. Same kinda photos. Little to non existent paved roads and the trip would take many, many days.

I regard the Phaeton as the best body style for long distance touring. That's what we use for ours. They are by far the most common body style here.

Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone spent several camping trips together for publicity.

I wonder if this pic is camping for the fun of it or the necessity of it.

The Queens Christmas message has left them despairing.

The year has been "bumpy" again.

Been there, done that.

I wonder if this photo will surface on the internet in 90 years and they ponder the same?

For me, there is nothing better than a drive through Glacier National Park, Cascade Mountains, Muir Woods or Yellowstone Park with the top down in a Phaeton. Breathtaking views! Just recalling the adventures we have had, makes me want to do them all over. All 98,000 miles of touring over the last 20 years in our '29 Phaeton have been awesome. Synchro909...I agree!
Good Day!

Happy New Year to all.
Not camping as such, but we have slept in the back of our 28 Pickup, in our hangar at Stellenbosch airfield.

I was in college in the mid 60s and my 30 coupe was all I had. when I went camping I slept under it---several times in a light rain. I used to put the foot of my sleeping bag into a garbage bag. It kept the oil from the pan leak from ruining my bag. Some of the best memories I have ever accumulated. Still got the coupe but now use my 5th wheel.

Good Day!

We drove that country on our way to the MAFCA Reno National Meet a year or two ago only we did it in a little Japanese rice burner of a car with a tin top. As much as we enjoyed it, I think I'd prefer your way.

It's even worse news for them. The royal family is running away to America to avoid the Murdock press.
