28 Tudor Door Question
 

Hey guys i'm new to this so take it easy on me.:o

I recently purchased a 28 Tudor and the interior was stripped out some time ago. The doors have the open, closing and window hardware but no other finishing hardware. Getting ready to order the Garnish moldings and a few other parts but i'm not sure how to install it since there are just 4 big holes where the screws go.

Is it just nuts and bolts or is something missing? If so, does anyone know where I could get any pictures or diagram for the parts needed?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yup...you need the threaded portion ( female) in those big holes.

Any idea on the part name or number? I didn't see it listed online.

You need to order 10-32" "D" nuts.

The holes look like they have been malformed or enlarged. I am wondering if the D nuts will go in without a little fabrication? What does the door on the other side look like? It should look the same or also the rear quarter window sill on either side.

Thanks for the helps guys..it looks like all of the "D" nuts are missing.

Gary is right on. the D nuts are normally peened in place. those are a little hard to get to. if your car is painted, sand down the top of the D nuts and JB weld them in place.

A D-nut can be swaged with threaded tooling if a person uses a proper set up to draw the swage in without stripping the threads. It can be done with the right skill set. If the holes are too large, they can be welded & redrilled but a person also needs that skill set. Some folks use either a Mig or a Tig welder but I use an O/A torch.
