1931 Ford roadster Trico wiper motor. I would like to find and buy a chrome Trico wiper motor that was made for my '31 Deluxe roadster. I am a little confused on what I should be looking for if they are even available besides the guy who ask $1,000 for them on Ebay. Was a replacement or a reproduction one made by Trico 20-40 years ago? One I missed on Ebay just saw it today completed auction was a little over $200 and it looked good but the box was printed 1970's.That would be fine for me. Lots of misleading ones on Ebay so I would like to make sure as I continue my search. One list as chrome and pictures show the basic pot metal finish but it would fit my car. Thank You

Re: 1931 Ford roadster Trico wiper motor. I understand that Trico came out with an aftermarket "replacement" wiper motor, which had some differences from the originals. I think the way in which the metal cover was attached is one of them. I picked one up on ebay a few years ago in the $275 range, new but without the box. It works and looks great.
There is an "unplated" one on ebay right now and was wondering if it could be painted using some of the new "chrome" paint that's on the market today (the purists will revile in horror). |
