K&N part number Does anyone have the correct (K&N) part number for both the standard length and the extended length air filter cartridges for the Air Maze? If I can find the correct K&N pt. number I should be able to get them locally. Thanks

Re: K&N part number I use K&N E-9257. You will need to extend the Air Maze center bolt. There may be other part #'s that fit.
I'm sure you will hear from a lot of members that say you don't need an air filter. My response is if I don't need an air filter, why do I have to clean it all the time... :p:p https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

Re: K&N part number Air filter keeps your oil cleaner, and cuts down on cylinder wear.
Lack of a filter is of the reasons that a Model A engine typically needs rebuilding at 60K-80K miles while a modern engine will do double if not treble that. My 29CC pickup showed 140K original miles and it was on it SECOND red engine (probably a Sears or Allstate replacement) - and that one worn out. Joe K |
Re: K&N part number Word of warning, before you get the extra-long one, go down to your local hardware store and see whether they actually carry a bolt that's long enough. If memory serves, I had to use the E-9257 because that's the longest bolt they had at my local store. Also get a fender washer to help distribute the force on the end of the filter.
