Not a Model A question! I know this is an A forum. That stated my question is somewhat related.
Having had great success with vinegar flush followed by distilled with Mac's Anti-rust has met with great success over the years! My question, will this routine work with modern engines? The distilled with Mac's would be substituted with modern anti-freeze. Hope this question will not cause cancellation of my membership in Ford Barn. |
Re: Not a Model A question! I have had better luck with evaporust than vinegar. Also will never use distilled water with water wetter again. 40-50 years ago I remember using Macs #13 after rebuilding an engine that had been cleaned in caustic soda to prevent future rust problems. I always had excellent results with Mac's #13, drained a few days later and refilled with 50/50 antifreeze. I don't know if Mac's Anti-rust is the same formula as the old Mac's #13 that looked like milk.
