Steering wheel redone Is anyone that can redo steering wheel?
|
Re: Steering wheel redone 1934cling, there are many here on the Barn who have done it themselves with PC brand filler or JB weld. Use the search function above to locate earlier posts on this subject. There is a wealth of information.
Good luck....Dick. |

Re: Steering wheel redone 1 Attachment(s)
You didn't say what year but I had my wheel for my 39 Zephyr recast by Don Eash in N.C. Done a wonderful job on it.

Re: Steering wheel redone Did mine myself. Came out very nice. 40 woody. Two tone as correct.

Re: Steering wheel redone I believe a 34 steering wheel is just black. You can "V" out cracks, fill with an epoxy based filler like JB weld or Marine Tex, sand, file or grind it to shape, sand the whole thing, shoot with catalyzed primer, paint with black urethane and if you like, clear urethane as a final coat. I prefer the look of no clear on most things on an old car, especially the paint. I do clear the wood graining I do.
