Rumble lid brackets and bolts Im wanting to put a rumble lid into my 1929 coupe. I have the triangle pieces that bolt to the lid. I do not have any of the rest of the brackets or bolts to bolt it to the car. I called snyders and earlyford parts to see if they just sale the brackets and the bolts separate, they informed me they do not. I was wondering if anyone on here knew if anyone sold the brackets and bolts separate?
Also does anyone have a pic of how the brackets ant the bolts mount up to the body and how it all goes together with the rumble lid thanks |
Re: Rumble lid brackets and bolts Well, I know that Brattons does sell the Hinge Bolt kit under part number 29880. It is possible that Antique Auto Sheetmetal would sell you the brackets that attach to the Rumble Hinge Brace.
. BTW, just curious, what is your plan for attaching the Rumble Seat Hinges to the deck lid? . |
Re: Rumble lid brackets and bolts 1 Attachment(s)
This was just at a "rough in stage with re-pop brackets and hinges. Many on this board told of early failures of these tri-angle brackets that attach to the lid. (so-far so good) I had to "re-skin" the deck lid so installing the D-nuts was easy (Not quite so with the skin on). The hinge brackets that bolt to the stantions I later threw in the trash and made my own. They are too soft to hold anything in place for very long and needed to be re-worked to align the deck lid so much it was just easier to build new ones from scrap.
What you don't see are the lid stops later installed with the bottom braces. Again the aluminum re-pops were unsatisfactory, so I made my own to support the lid when opened. Lots of different folks have ridden back there and the "home made stops have done fine. Hope it helps........ |
Re: Rumble lid brackets and bolts The deck lid I have came with the original triangle hinge mount and it is allready mounted. Im not even installing a rumble seat in the area and no one will ever sit back there. I just like the look of the rumble kid and going to store my battery and model T gas tank back there.
