Bought a late 31 gas tank and it has an unusual cap. It's a flip top. The filler neck locks to tank and the round part screws in. It's really cool!

One of the many, many accessories offered back in the day by aftermarket manufacturers for the Model-A.;)

Only down side is it has to be removed to open the windshield much.
