Atlanta chrome shops Looking for a chrome shop in Atlanta that some of you have had a good experience with. I will be chroming a few small interior trim pieces for a 52 F1.
Thank you Jonathan |
Re: Atlanta chrome shops I had some things done by both Southern Bumper Exchange and Dallas Plating. The catch is that Georgia doesn't allow disposal of the waste from copper plating so triple chrome plating (copper, nickel. chrome) cannot be done. (or so I'm told, anyway) The aluminum piece I had plated looked "okay" but the plater couldn't copper plate it to remove surface imperfections that are usually taken care of during this portion of the process.
All that being said, if your piece is smooth and free from pits, gouges and generally in pretty good shape you can get an acceptable job done here locally, If not, better look out of state. pm me if you want more info via phone call |
Re: Atlanta chrome shops Thanks John, that probably explains why the last shop I used couldn’t restore a hood emblem, because it has quite a bit of pitting. I have a buddy in Arizona and his local shop does great work so I will just use them and avoid all the hassle.
