Water in the oil
 

On my 51 F1 I was changing the oil (on a rebuilt 8ba 2500 miles ago )and a trickle of water from the oil pan plug as I was undoing it,I went on Google and was told water will sink to the bottom of oil which surprised me.....anything to be too concerned about ,around 1500 miles since the last oil change . Did you warm it up before you changed it? A certain amount of condensation can form in the oil. The amount you are talking about does not seem enough to worry about but keep an eye on the oil level.

Hi Frank ( met you in Tahoe). I did warm it up and the oil level seems ok,I put in about 1/4 pint of water this morning to top it up,during the summer the water level was constant but you know how the imagination works,although probably nothing to get concerned about . Cheers. Jim.

check your coolant level. if the water did not mix with the oil and turn into a gray blob you are very lucky. I would probably re-torque the head bolts and add some aluminized radiator stopleak to the coolant

Most water leaks into the oil would have the oil looking something like a chocolate milk shake.

Thanks guys ,I,ll carry on as normal and just keep an eye on the dip stick and water level .

This is one of the reasons it is important to get the operating temperature up to a range that removes any moisture from the oil.

Totally endorse this comment and the 180 stats do the job well in my recently rebuilt engine since fitting.
