there is a add on ebay for a stainless steel hood strip for 49 & 50 & 51 are they all the same or is 51 one year only thank you for any help on this

I am not 100% sure but I believe the '51 is a one year only while 49-50 are the same.

Coupeman is correct. '49-'50 are stainless and '51 is painted body color.

Thought that I would add some photos of the Hood Ornaments for these three years of Fords, 1949, 1950 and 1951. Notice that every year is different, and as previously suggested, the trailing strip is chrome plated on the 1949 and 1950 models, and painted body colour on the 1951 models. Hope that these pictures are helpful.

it looks like a rocket ship,don't no how to put a picture on

What he shows is the correct 51 ornament, the rocket ship one must have been an accessory.

I don't believe that eBay ornament is correct for 1951. The '51 Should have a "socket" where the vertical plastic find goes.

Good point. Too bad the original poster can't post a photo of what he has.
Maybe it's not stock.
