dash light switch removal 32 tunnel Have a 32 tunnel and have dash light switch loose " back nut" but can't see how to get it out ?? does the knob come off ? or does switch body come apart somehow ?? tnx ..sc

Re: dash light switch removal 32 tunnel The knob unscrews and then remove the bezel which the back nut screws to.There is also a cone shaped washer..It should come out easy enough.Do not take apart the switch body, not necessary.

Re: dash light switch removal 32 tunnel The switch body is threaded into the bezel. All you have loosen the hex nut on the back is enough to permit you to rotate the switch body to un-thread it from the bezel on the instrument panel.

Re: dash light switch removal 32 tunnel I have the nut loose but nothing unscews ,guess I will have to try harder ..the switch flops around on hole as nut is loose and bezel is loose ..thx for info so far.. sc

Re: dash light switch removal 32 tunnel Do all 32 dash knobs unscrew ?? got to me to thinking about throttle and choke extraction from tunnel..sc

Re: dash light switch removal 32 tunnel Only the dash light switch knob is threaded.
You need to pull the switch from the rear to prevent the bezel from turning in the instrument panel (one side of the hole in the instrument panel is straight, not curved, to prevent the bezel from rotating, but the bezel must be kept flush with the face of the instrument panel in order for it to stay put while you are un-threading the switch body from the bezel. |

Here are some photos of a dash light switch with the nut, cone, and dash bezel. Notice the flat spot that keys it into the dash as David indicated in his post. The knob threads in as well as the bezel. See my last photo.
