All I can say "be where" those made in Argentina do not work. Best I can say the disk
on the bottom is not off set enough to get enough throw. I bought two neither one
works... so I drive with a gutted cylinder with no key. It looks locked in the crooks eyes!

This is the same cylinder that is supplied with the reproduction column drops. They work fine in the repro drops and should work in an original drop as well. The outward appearance differs from the OEM cylinder as does the key.
Just a note of caution as far as driving with a gutted column drop. Without a cylinder present the locking mechanism can fall into place locking the column while driving and lock the wheel unexpectedly. It can happen on certain year drops so.....pay attention to that possibility.

For me, this would be an inappropriate item to save money on. It would be okay if it simply controlled the ignition switch because you could simply jump the wires on the back to start and operate the vehicle if the lock failed to operate as intended. Not so with the locking steering column part of the lock assembly where an inoperable lock cylinder could leave you high and dry at what would inevitably be either a bad time or a bad place or both.
