Perfect Combo - Orig Ford points/NuRex upper plate
 

Seems the quality of the repro upper dist plate has come into question. I wonder just how many other replacements for "original distributor parts" have this kind of issue?
I'm thinking that for now, at least, I'm gonna stick with my current "old reliable" (35K+ miles & no failure) and put up with the V8 point gap adjustment when needed. (*)

To bad no one has put the original points on the NuRex upper plate. That combination would be just perfect. Everything right there in front and so easy to service.
