31 Roadster Windshield Frame I want to disassemble my windshield frame and can't figure out how to get it apart. I see no evidence of the 4 screws, shown in the catalogs, that are supposed to go into L brackets. I have sanded the frame which I thought would expose the screws but no luck.

Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame 1 Attachment(s)
Take the studs out where the windshield hinges.

Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame Ok. Took the studs out and the frame cones off. Should I be seeing the screws or does the windshield frame just pry apart once the studs and cones are off?

Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame Mine just came apart, no screws. If there are any screws I would think they are behind the weather strip.

Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame no screws. The studs hold it together.

Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame Great. I'll just take the cones off and see if I can get it apart. One of the cones has been added to/butchered a bit and I will have to cut a spot of weld to get it off. It appears to have a second cone added which looks like it is spot welded to the original cone blocking access to the nut.

Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame Got the frame apart. Just took the two pivot studs out and was able to tap
the top frame, along with the "L" brackets, up and off. Only the pivot studs held the side frames to the "L" brackets. I can't see any screws holding the "L" brackets to the top frame either on the outside or in the glass channel. Thoughts? This is a 31 Standard Roadster (Canadian made). Should the top of the "L" brackets come out of the top frame or are they permanently attached? |
Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame They are permanently attached.

Re: 31 Roadster Windshield Frame Thanks "midgetracer". That's what it looks like to me, but nice to have confirmation
