do they share the front clip, fenders and cabs?

Electrical in the 56 would be 12 volt, and 56 doors are 56 only, other parts may interchange.

F-250 and F-350 fenders have a larger wheel opening. Cabs, hood, etc are the same.

Ford introduced their Lifeguard safety upgrades in '56, with improved door latches.
The '56 cab door post may(?) be slightly different from the previous years.

1956 cabs and doors are unique. 1953 thru 1955 are the same cabs, doors, hoods and fenders (F100).

Yes, I should have mentioned that the '56 cab and doors are totally different with the wrap around windshield and "knee knocker" A pillars.

Don't overlook big trucks, they can be a source of usable components, too.
