Easy - resize pics for posting

1. Do not open e mail
2. Find the pic in your file that you want to resize
3. Right click on photo
4. Menu will open, hover mouse over "send to", move mouse to "mail resipient" and left click
5. Photo will be resized for email...click "attach"
6. Wait for the email attachement to open
Final step
With the email now open with the attached photo, right click on the atached photo, cllck on "save as", save in the file of your choice.

Your 1.5MB photo is now 106kb...Enjoy

Sounds great. I tried it and it doesn't work. I am running "PHOTOS" in a MAC desk top. Could you share with us what hardware and software you are using?

Here is how I do it with my MAC computer using the software that came with the computer (PHOTOS):

To reduce the size of photos export them at a lower resolution. Open “PHOTOS”. Go to the command line and click “File” and then “Export”. The prompts will explain how to export the photos at full size or less than full size to someplace you select like the desktop.

If someone has an easier way, please post it.

I'm running windows 7, don't know anything about MAC
No need to open e mail (any e mail) because you're not going to e mail it, but the e mail attachment will open, once it resizes you just save it in a file and close the attachment.
This also works on multiple photos

This is what I use to resize. The Model T Ford Club of America forums picture limit is 250KB or less. This program lets you do group resizing.

With it you can ether just resize the photos or keep the original and a resized copy.

I am now using linux.

It has its own cropper/sizer built in.

But when I ran windows it had a "snipping tool" built in.

Just open a pic and crop it to the physical size you want for area and save it.

Does these 2 actions at once.

Drops a huge file to about a 100K.

Re: Easy - resize pics for posting

Unfortunately, one size doesn't fit all for most software problems/solutions.

You'd have to have the same operating system, the same way to store the picture, the same picture manipulating program, and with your mouse/trackpad/keyboard set up the same in order for someone to downsize a picture the same way you do. In addition, many (most?) of us store pictures "on the cloud" which introduces a whole new set of variables.

Yes, "the cloud" is a totally different animal, and I don't know about you, but I have been doing cards, calendars, photos etc., with my computers for years now and I HATE "the cloud"! Why is it when something works and works great, someone has to go in and change it? Why can't they just leave well enough alone!

I store my pictures on my computer, not off site.
