Model B engine noise part II Decided to use a model B side cover and cut two openings above the oil galley leaving a portion at the center for strength. If I knew how to post pictures I would. This enabled me to run the engine without loosing oil pressure and check valve clearances while running. I had re set the valves several times using the Ford method but I could not eliminate the tic. The tick came through the heater opening while driving and very irritating. Also the engine had a substantial valve noise heard when standing outside by the front of the car. I found several valves had excessive clearances and some not enough. There was no oil mess. I had to shut the engine off to make adjustments (of course). The whole process went really fast and now the tic is gone and the engine runs much quieter. Life is good.
