cowl light install sequence?

Hi,

Need help figuring out how to put together cowl lights.

I have the outer metal ring, I think then a gasket?, then the lens (with the rounded ridges inside and the notch down.

But then not sure about the reflector (I assume the hole is down)? Is it then all supposed to be clipped into the outer cover? So the clips are on the back of the reflector and it all comes off and so is easy to change the bulb? Or do I need to put the gasket somewhere else? It also seemed a little thin.

thanks,
Kim

Thanks I did read that and there was a lot of info, but I still am not sure.

I have the 1930 type cowl light with the riveted socket on the top part of the picture. It says the lens is clipped on the rim, but if you do that and then put the gasket on it does not look right. If I try to put the lens first then gasket and then reflector and try to snap it all, it is really tight. I am just not sure.

thanks

it is the ring next the lens then the gasket then the reflector then the clips. the gasket goes between the lens and reflector.

So the reflector is clipped with the lens and part of the outer rim/ lens assembly ? How does a larger lamp for more cp fit thru the hole if installed that way?
