Model A Body Companies...

Besides Ford, Budd, Briggs, Murray and Baker Raulang...were there any other companies that provided Model A bodies to Ford (Excluding Model AA Bodies and the Independent Body Building Companies)?

Thanks.

Pluck

HH Babcock of Watertown, NY, a coach builder, produced early bodies to Ford and several other manufacturers. It would have been in the early A production from what I can find,. probably more suited in the T time-frame.

York-Hoover built the Postal Delivery body for the A (as opposed to AA) chassis. Dunno if that meets your criteria though, as those vehicles were not sold to the general public.

York-Hoover also made panel delivery bodies on the A chassis different from Ford's own bodies

What defines a company as independent?

An INDEPENDENT company is one run by 2 Guys & a Dog! They're noted for building DOGGONE, nice bodies.

Well, my definition of an independent company would be one that bought a chassis from Ford and finished the car with their own body, probably on special order from a customer. OTOH Briggs, Murray, Budd, etc, like other parts suppliers, just provided the body to Ford who finished the car.
