Engine Weight

I've seen the threads before listing weight of long block engine for shipping but can't seem to find those threads. Sorry.

What is the weight of a long block with and without flywheel for shipping.

Opinions seem to vary. The flywheel weighs 63#.

I shipped a complete and fully running engine early last year. Starter, carburetor, manifold etc... I took it to a certified scale and it came out right at 400 pounds. The engine did not have the transmission attached.

It was a running engine so it had the flywheel. No clutch disk or bell housing.

Looks like 400 lbs tops is a good estimate for shipping start for shipping costs
