66 truck pressure plate My 66 originally came with a 352 and truck 4 speed and I had put a new clutch in it a couple thousand miles at the most before it got a 460/C-6,now its going to get a 351-W and 3 speed and would like to reuse the clutch parts since they have no miles on them. Its a diaphram PP and it looks like the fingers stick out further then usual, the 4 speed trans had a longer input shaft and deeper bellhousing so anyone know if the PP is different for the 4 speed then with a 3 speed and I do not have another to compare it too and according to one parts stores website there is no difference.

Re: 66 truck pressure plate It’s been years, but I went thru that once. Depending on how it stacked up, a different throw out bearing (length) was the answer if the current combo doesn’t add up.

Re: 66 truck pressure plate Is the pressure plate drilled for the long or borg and beck mounting, and with it off the flywheel, the fingers will higher then when bolted on.

Re: 66 truck pressure plate The truck originally had a 3 fingered pressure plate but that flywheel is not going to be used since it will not work on a 351-W,even when bolted to the flywheel the fingers looked to be sticking out further then normal so I will have to find another to compare.

Re: 66 truck pressure plate The pickups later on had a bell that was deeper on the 3 spd than a car type bell.
