'28 roadster mirror question I need a set of mirrors for my roadster, pillar mount type. Many vendors sell the familiar units:
https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_m...ess-steel.html But some say these are for left side only. Is there any reason they can't be used on the right side? Maybe they don't adjust inward enough? Any suggestions where to buy them? Thanks, MJS |
Re: '28 roadster mirror question Hi MJS,
YES, the passenger side mirror needs to be angle inward a lot more than the drivers site. I used the same mirrors as in you photo. I made a longer ‘distance’ piece( the piece between the rod and the mirror) and gave it a kink, in order to increase the mirror angle. Fitted one on my Pickup as well as my Chevy, works great. |
Re: '28 roadster mirror question 3 Attachment(s)
MJS,
Some photos of original distance piece and the modified piece on the Model A and the Chevy, both RHD cars. |
Re: '28 roadster mirror question I bought a pair of mirrors that screw into the windshield post on my '29 roadster from TAM's in MA. The right side arm needed to be adjusted/bent so I could see it from behind the wheel. I did this slowly and carefully and it worked out fine.

Re: '28 roadster mirror question Thanks Gentlemen. I'll get the mirrors on order and modify the right side.
