I found the above photo in my humble archives and figured it was interesting enough to post. I'm willing to bet that many of you folks in the "Model-T" forum are way more ... To read the rest of this blog entry from The Ford Barn, click here.

Ryan,

Neat picture , on a T his feet would be shifting from low/high , brake and reverse. His right arm would be all in with the throttle....:D

See my stupidity shining? It's bright.

The irony being that I actually drove a t yesterday.

Re: The Rolling Road

I bellieve this is a "brass" T by the shape of the radiator and the color of the tires and the wooden firewall and the round gas tank.

The car is being started for the first time by the drums in the floor running against the rear wheels.

I believe the guy in front just finished putting water in the radiator.

I think the chassis was then driven over to the assembly line for the installation of the body and fenders.

Dennis,

The next step as you indicated was the "body drop"

The water fellow is showing a lot of faith in whatever held the car on the rollers!

Re: The Rolling Road

If you look closely there are no body parts, he is sitting on the gas tank, his left foot is on the running board support, the other could be on the drive shaft (it's enclosed) or a cross member. Bubba is absolutely correct, his right hand would be controlling the gas and the left hand the spark. Great picture, I wonder what body it ended up with? LouB.
